• Question: Which part of being an organ scientist do you like most?

      I get to make a very small part of the human lung in a dish. I take single lung cells and then grow them in a way that makes them form a layer like you have in your lungs. This means that they are fed nutrients from below, have air above them and they can produce mucous which they move around their surface! You can see this under a microscope and it is amazing.

      My favourite part is dissecting the specimens I receive, anything from a mole, appendix, gallbladder….. It’s really fun and interesting!
