      The pineal gland is the smallest organ in the body. It is inside the brain close to the middle. It is only 8 millimetres long and its role is to producing a chemical that regulates how and when we sleep.

      The smallest organ in the human body is the pineal gland which is located in the brain close to the centre. This organ is about 8 millimetres long and its main role is to produce melatonin which is a hormone that is in charge of regulating our sleep/wake cycles.
