It would depend on all the other aspects of your life. As I recall the worlds oldest person was a smoker, so it is not a death sentence. However, it does increase your chances of have all sorts of horrid conditions, which can lead to death.
Difficult one, it will depend on your overall health etc.
But I think the obvious answer here is not to smoke. We all have are naughty habits whether it is eating a take away or drinking too much. Ultimately to live a good long life we must exercise and eat well, we can allow ourselves some occasion naughty pleasures but it will always be at your own risk. Someone could smoke every day till they die of old age, someone else could only smoke 5 a day and get lung cancer at 45…… It’s always a gamble.
