      Well, when you are digesting food, it spends a large amount of time in the large intestine. Here microorganisms exist which breakdown parts of our food we can’t. One of the things these organisms produce while doing this is methane, which is the gas you fart out.

      Like mo said its a build up of gas as the bacteria digest your food….. Plus it can also just be funny.
