When we run our muscles use up a lot of energy and that energy needs to be replaced. Our hearts beat faster and pump more blood around the body to provide our muscles with the extra oxygen and nutrients that are needed to produce energy.
Our blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells. Once inside the cell the oxygen and nutrients go through several chemical reactions which produces energy. Hope this answers your question 🙂
