      I remember watching a documentary about planes that went missing in the Bermuda Triangle during the second world war. Back then when radar wasn’t very good, pilots relied heavily on the land below them to navigate. The islands around the Bermuda Triangle can look very similar from the air above and if you are not sure which way you are going you can run out of fuel and crash very easily. The weather and waters around the triangle can also get very stormy, making it difficult for smaller boats to navigate. Theories involving weird magnetic fields have so far not been proved.
