The most important challenge that I face in my experiments is getting a sample of LIVER by a test called as – LIVER BIOPSY, which is a most invasive technique, which causes lots of pain.

To confirm the diagnosis of patients who are thought to be suffering from NASH (Non alcoholic steatohepatitis), we need to for LIVER BIOPSY, which is the only available, gold standard test. Since the patients are ASYMPTOMATIC 90% of them will not be ready to go for Liver Biopsy, there by I will not be able to get any liver samples so easily.

The most challenging part of my project has been creating a model of the lung. I am using normal lung cells from people and making them into a layer of cells with liquid below and air above, much like the real lung. I will then use this to see how the cells change when they become cancerous.
